Freedom Futures Weekend: Sponsorship page
Greetings!
I am excited to launch our 3rd annual Abolition April Month with  Freedom Futures weekend on April 11-12 in Washington, D.C.!Â
On Saturday, April 11th, we will first gather at the Nation’s Capital for an in-person Abolition Academy. This teach-in is called “Building Abolitionist Sanctuaries,” and convenes 50 local faith-leaders and community organizers to organize against authoritarianism and toward a better democracy. Following our training, I will lead a direct-action to the White House to advocate for the 300,000 Black women who were forced out of the workplace because of Trump’s regressive policies and executive orders that rolled back democracy.
on Sunday, April 12th, we will host Abolitionist Sanctuary National Sunday that organizes churches around the country to dedicate their Sunday service to Abolitionist Sanctuary by reimagining worship through the lens of abolition. Registered churches will receive a toolkit to plan their liturgies with suggestive scripture, commentaries by leading thinkers, and more. This year, the host church is Metropolitan AME Church, where Rev. William Lamar, IV is the senior Pastor.
Join us for these free events during Freedom Futures Weekend! Your support helps to further our mission and work to build abolitionist sanctuaries where Black mothers and their families can thrive.
Registration is required.
