Description

The Abolitionist Sanctuary documentary takes you on a journey in Harlem, New York to unearth the survival stories of poor Black mothers who sometimes bend rules and break laws to provide for themselves and their children against unjust systems.

The film closely chronicles the narratives of community mothers, church mothers, and carceral mothers who rely on each other for resources to meet their basic needs when survival is not promised.
