Abolitionist Sanctuary is training a faith-based abolitionist movement to respond to the moral crisis of mass incarceration and the criminalization of impoverished Black motherhood with emancipatory teachings and practices.
Our theory of change is to repair harms (reparative justice), restore relationships (restorative justice), Â and rebuild a more just and equitable society (transformative justice).
Repair an organization’s ability to identify root causes of harms and to participate in healing work through harm reduction.
Restore an organization’s ability to practice restorative justice to heal relationships that recognizes our collective worth and shared humanity.
Rebuild an organization’s ability to reimagine and build more just and equitable systems.
