Abolitionist Sanctuary is a pioneer in a faith-based abolitionist movement that responds to the moral crisis of mass incarceration and interlocking systems of oppression that disproportionately disadvantage poor Black mothers and other underrepresented groups. Our model combines a faith-based approach to abolitionist principles and transformative justice strategies to create economies of care that benefit poor Black mothers and empower organizations to repair, restore and rebuild a more just and equitable society
